Cutting "Perfect" Tiny Address Labels - No Sweat
Make Your Own Address Labels
I’ve mentioned before that I hardly ever use the templates that
But here’s an exception: tiny return address labels.
My customers who order return address labels don’t like the sizes that are readily available on pre-scored self-stick label stock. They’re OK for address labels; but not return address labels, which need to fit in the upper left corner of the envelope.
I print tiny return address labels on full sheet label stock and cut them apart as described in this Label Tricks article.
I get 30 to 45 labels to a page, depending on the template I choose.
That would be a lot of copying, pasting and positioning were I to lay them out individually. So I select a label template that does most of the work for me.
However, because I want tiny labels, I split the template in half.
The screenshot above shows an example using Amery C2160 Large Mailing Label template available in Printshop. It also illustrates how I can design two address labels on one sheet. It’s not unusual for a couple to want one design for him and a different one for her.
As for cutting apart 45 tiny labels, I used to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get perfect right angles. I spend much less time these days after realizing that people can’t even perceive the small variances. To learn why, read my article A Matter of Perspective.
