  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Craft knife to cut slits in hat to thread ribbon
  • Pencil
  • Carbon paper (optional)
  • Glue for paper (white glue or glue stick)

How to Make The Invitation

Print out the pattern below. If the size is not acceptable (every printer is different), you can reduce or enlarge it yourself using the Print Setup box or take your printout to a copy center and ask them to size it for you.

Cut out pattern pieces. Lay them atop the craft foam. Trace around with a pencil and cut out the pieces of foam.

With the craft knife, cut slits in the hat as indicated on the pattern. Cut a 2.75 inch length of ribbon and thread it through the hat. Decorate hat as desired using the glitter glue pen.

Cut a 3.5 inch piece of ribbon and tie it into a bow. Trim ends. Use the pencil to copy the eyes onto the face or transfer them using carbon paper. Go over the eyes with the black marker.

Preheat the hot glue gun. [ Be sure to keep it out of the reach of children. ] Glue the bow to the hat. Glue a pacifier on the baby's mouth. Lay out the body pieces as in the photos above. When you are satisfied with the arrangement, glue the baby together with the glue gun.

Once you've put one baby together and know what you are doing, you can make the rest in assembly line fashion.

Finally, make the paper invitation and glue it to the baby's bottom.
