Gluing Book Pages Together

Secret Box Book

How would I glue the pages of a book together so I can decorate the cover and use as a table or shelf decoration?

Thank you,

Dell

Sorry to take a while to get back to you. With the holidays and requisite holiday craft projects, your question had to be set aside.

I’ve actually wanted to do a secret box book myself. It requires gluing pages together as you want to do. So I’ve been asking other crafters and searching the web.

The hard part has been finding a paper glue that is acid free. Success: it’s Paper Mod Podge!

I didn’t realize how many versions of the classic Mod Podge the Plaid company has developed.

Be sure to choose Paper Mod Podge for your project.

Dilute the Paper Mod Podge about 30% with water so that it will wick into the pages a good distance.

You don’t want it to just sit along the edge; it wouldn’t hold the pages together that way.

Weight the book heavily to dry because the thin glue solution will cause buckling.

I’ll be photographing my secret book box project as I go so I can put a tutorial on The Artful Crafter. I’ll write again to let you know when that is up.

Again, my apologies for the delayed response.
