Vintage Bottle Vases
A Use for Reclyced Bottles

A set of these pretty vintage look bottles would make a great house warming or birthday gift.
Old bottles can be found at flea markets, antique stores and even thrift shops.
However, bottles don't have to be vintage for this project. You may even find some suitable decanters in the grocery store that, once emptied of olive oil, liqueur, or vinegar, will make lovely decorated vases.
Vintage Bottle Vase Materials
- Bottles in different shapes and sizes
- 1 roll of 24 gauge copper wire
- Glass beads in colors and sizes of your choice
- Round nose pliers or toothpick for winding a wire coil
- Rub-On decals or waterslide decals

Making the Bottle Vase
Wash and dry each bottle thoroughly, especially if you are going to use any type of decals.
To make a wire necklace, loosely wrap wire around the neck of the bottle. Add more length of wire if you want to wrap around the bottle two or more times.
Using round nose pliers make three tight loops at one end of the piece of wire. Or you can wrap the end of the wire around a toothpick three times and then slide it off.
The loops should be fairly small and will be used to hook the other end of the wire.
Add your beads to the wire. At the other end leave ½ inch of wire and fold over the beads. Loop the necklace around the bottle and hook the folded end into the loop end. Bend the remaining wire into a small loop hooking it in place.
Arrange the wire necklace in a way that appeals to you. Bend it, loop it and add charms here and there if you like.

Do something different on each bottle.
You can apply rub-on decals or waterslide decals, decoupage a small print, or even paint a design with glass paint or etching cream.
Add a single blossom to each vase and arrange the vases in a group.
