Ideas for a Unique Bridal Shower
Hi, I am having a hard time coming up with neat ideas for my sister's bridal shower.
It is going to be a garden party at night. The grounds where we are having it will have fountains and a rose garden.
It is a public park and pavilion. There are garage doors that can open and make the pavilion open. I want to use pansy as the dominating flower. Her colors are purple and yellow.
Any suggestions for decorating the food table and other tables?

You don’t mention your budget or the number of invitees, so I’ll throw out a range of suggestions.
Purple and yellow are a lovely combination, but can be overdone. For tablecloths, I would stay with white or, at most, pale lavender. Since your shower will be at night, candles are an obvious choice.
If candle centerpieces are outside your price range, how about floating pansy candles?
There are shallow clear glass bowls designed especially to display floating candles. Perhaps you could borrow some from friends; but other shallow containers would work as well.
BuyACandle is the best site I found for floating pansy candles. It carries pansy candles in lavender and ivory at very affordable prices.
If you want to have favors at each place, Bridal Shower Favors carries pretty little sheer organza bags to be filled with candy. They cost only $2.40 for ten, which is probably cheaper than you could make them yourself!
Fill the organza bags with individually colored M&Ms, which are available in 20 colors including yellow, gold, light purple and purple. They come in five-pound bags, so you probably want to use just two colors.
Candied pansy blossoms would look lovely scattered along the food table or decorating some of the food trays or even the dessert. Click on the link to find out how to make them.
Finally, if you do computer graphics, you can tie the whole party together with pansy themed paper goods - from the invitations to napkin rings and place cards.
Also visit Computer Plans & Patterns for more ideas and templates for paper party goods.
