Then & Now Anniversary Card
Sweet Memories: Then & Now Card
This is the inside of an anniversary card I did for a friend. It occurred to me that the idea could easily be adapted for any milestone celebration: special birthday; years in business, etc.
Sue brought me one of her original wedding invitations from 39 years ago, along with a black and white photo from that long-ago momentous occasion and a color photo of the (still happily-married) couple today. Together we came up with the "Then and Now" card idea.
On the cover, in calligraphic formal text is the original wedding invitation: so and so "request the honour of your presence ...".
On the inside, we duplicated the typeface and printed the two photos in sepia tones.
For step-by-step directions to convert your photos to sepia prints, for color photos read Everything New is Old Again.
To convert black and white photos to sepia, read An Antique Look for Your Black and White Photos.
Beneath the wedding photo we put:.
"That was then ... and after 39 adventure-filled years ...".
Above the today photo the card says,.
"This is now." .
Below the photo is a formally-worded invitation to their anniversary party that begins,
"Juan and Sue request the honour of your presence ...".
Then it was just a matter of printing onto glossy photo paper
, for cutting and pasting.
Be sure to use archival (neutral Ph) glue, like Itoya O'Glue
, as I did.
These cards could last for another 39 years!.
