Create Your Own Line of Greeting Cards
Let the World Know Who Made Those Beautiful Greeting Cards
Make your printable greeting cards uniquely yours by creating your own logo. You can do so using your greeting card software program’s Back Page Art like this.
Or create your own logo from scratch like this.
First, create and save your logo.
In your greeting card software, open a blank page.
Go to the Art Gallery and look through the Back Page Art or any other category, such as Backgrounds or Flowers, that you would like to use in your logo.
Select your design(s)and paste onto the blank page. Add a text box and type in your data.
Be sure you include your name, phone number and your e-mail so customers can get in touch with you to place an order.
Vary the fonts and text colors until you are satisfied.
Click on the artwork you selected from the Art Gallery. Move your mouse over the artwork until the Move symbol (looks like a fancy plus sign) appears.
Click and hold down to move the artwork where you want it in relation to your text. Release click.
Size your artwork by finding the corner and/or side arrows with the mouse and, in similar fashion (Click, hold, release), adjust the size to fit in with your text and make a pleasing logo design.
Lasso all the parts of your logo and Group. This will allow you to copy and paste your logo as one object to be pasted into other projects with one Copy command.
Save your logo design but leave the file open.
Then create your printable greeting card, leaving both files open. If you’ve made your card by customizing one of the greeting card templates that came with your graphics program, go to the back page.
Use your computer mouse to lasso all the pre-supplied back page art; then Delete. You now have a clean “canvas” for your logo.
Switch to your logo file. Click on the logo to Select it.
Click Copy.
Switch back to the back of your greeting card.
Click Paste.
Move the logo to bottom center or wherever you wish. Size it to fit the card by pulling/pushing one of the corner arrows.
You’re done!
Instead of using the prepackaged printable greeting cards that come with the programs, make up your own. The more originality you put into your cards, the greater the potential of getting some orders for each card you send or sell.
Another reason not to use the prepackaged designs contained in these programs is the copyright law. Most of the software publishers specifically prohibit the commercial use of their artwork. Read more about, Copyrights.
