Wholesale Catalogs

What Do You Need to Get a Wholesaler's Catalog

I presently do not sell my crafts but am thinking of doing so.

Do you know how I could get my hands on a Raz Imports catalog and an Ardinger catalog?

Thank you!

Jennifer

Wholesalers can sell to private individuals and collect sales tax (or not, depending on where the order is sent)
or can sell to licensed retailers on a tax exempt basis. Obviously, buying your supplies on a tax exempt basis helps to keep your costs and perhaps your retail prices down.

Retailing laws vary by state, but basically, to sell your crafts you need a tax ID number and you may need a resale tax number and certificate issued by the state you live in and any state you want to sell in.

The cost for the resale number is minimal. Some states charge nothing. The penalties for selling your crafts without a resale number can be hefty.

Along with your resale number, each state will provide you information on how much sales tax you need to collect on items you sell in that state and how to pay it. Some provide a book with coupons similar to bank deposit slips. A coupon is mailed to the state’s revenue department along with the tax payment and its related sales tax receipts.

So be sure to check with an attorney or the revenue department in the relevant state(s).

Raz Imports

The reason I go into this tax detail is that Raz will send its catalogues to retailers at no charge; but the retailers must provide a valid resale tax number with their requests. Raz only sells on a tax exempt basis so resellers must provide proof that they have the proper license.

If you would like to browse the Raz catalogues before you go to all this trouble, they allow you to download PDF files of as many of their catalogues as you like. These catalogues are complete except that wholesale prices are omitted.

Here is a link to Raz Imports.

Ardinger

I’m not sure which Ardinger company you refer to. If you mean H.T. Ardinger and Son located in Lewisville TX, I don’t believe they have a catalogue.

Ardinger and Son is a wholesaler of interior decoration products. They market their products from merchandise marts and trade centers in Atlanta GA, Denver CO, Kansas City KS, Minnetonka MN and Dallas TX.

You can contact their general office in Lewisville (1-800-683-0498) or go to one of their showrooms to see the physical products.

Thank you for your information. It is helpful and I appreciate your time!
