Artwork for Commerical Greeting Cards

I am looking for clip art images or graphics for my card making.
I want to eventually sell these cards.
Do you have an idea as to where I can find good royalty free images?
Thank you for your time. This is a very useful site.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re finding The Artful Crafter useful.
Have you seen this article I did on Copyrights? It’s a good place to start.
When you look online for images to use commercially, be sure to read the policies or terms of use. Some sites offer professional or commercial licenses. You pay a small premium for the right to use the images in derivative works you will sell.
Here are three sites with free downloadable images.
The following sites sell images.
You’ll also find some tips in Avoiding Copyright Issues When Using Software Programs and a complete index of my articles on copyrights.
I don’t know what type of images you have in mind, but there are other options for you to consider.
Photos you take yourself can be manipulated in a software program like Adobe Photoshop Elements or Photoshop CS.

Look at what I did with the background photo in this scrapbook layout using Photoshop. [Note that I used a photo from PrintShop which is okay because this layout was for my personal enjoyment.]
You can make your photos look like sketches, oil paintings, watercolors and obtain many other lovely effects in a photo manipulation software.
If your images will be more along the lines of simple line art, you can draw a very basic outline, scan it and recolor it to your heart’s content, like I did with the cupcake above. [Again, this design was for my personal use and I colored it with Scrap Girls papers.]
That’s my great-niece, Maire, in the cupcake window.
Isn’t she cute as a cupcake?
