User Friendly Software

I typed in my recipes, my family tree, and added some photos using Matilda's Fantastic Cookbook Software. I then chose the design template I liked, and I just hit print.

Thanks to the software I had started and finished the project in under a week. Pretty amazing, really.

When I was done I had a family recipe book, a birthday calendar, a family tree (still working on that), and an address book, and I printed out seven copies for everybody in my family.

You could make a cookbook in Photoshop or PrintShop but it would be a huge undertaking because of all the page and layer organizing.

The Cookbook People software includes database features.

Don’t be scared away by the term "database".

The user interface is extremely user-friendly. You just type in the recipe and any info about its origin which you desire. Then fill in any fields you want.

Choices include recipe author, birthdate, address, biography, etc. All this information gets stored in the behind-the-scenes database.

For the recipes themselves, you indicate a category such as "breads", "cakes", "main dishes", etc.

You can even add your own categories like "Polish recipes". When you go to print or view your recipe book, you’ll find everything neatly organized by the categories.

You can view everything online and/or print it out. Depending on what data you have included, the "database" you create can be much more than a cookbook as Cynthia noted.

It can be an address book, a birthday calendar, and a place to store family narratives and biographies for your family tree.
