Greeting Cards Software Copyrights - Part Two
Avoiding Copyright Issues When Using Software Programs
Dear Artful Crafter,
I want to write and publish Christian greeting cards using my own photography.
Is there a good greeting card software out there you could recommend that allows you to sell your product using their software.
Thanks in advance for any info you have.
I use Photoshop, Print Artist, PrintShop and Print Master.
I prefer Photoshop for complex graphic design work like multiple page brochures and scrapbook layouts and PrintShop for single page designs like calling cards and greeting cards. You’ll find many tutorials using PrintShop on The Artful Crafter.
Take a look at the Greeting Card section of our Computer Crafting Index or just type "PrintShop" into the search box to find the individual PrintShop tutorials.
Photoshop does not have an art gallery but the other three programs do. The artwork in such galleries is the copyrighted work of other artists and may not be used commercially. As long as you use your own photos and create your own layouts using frames, shapes and text (but nothing from the art gallery - not even borders), I believe you would be in compliance with the software terms of use.
However I am not a copyright attorney. Be sure to consult one when you set up your business.
