What's Your Craft Passion?
My Craft Passion
What makes a craft a passion?
I just listened to "Sister" Diane Gilleland's 20 minutes podcast on How to Write a Great Craft Blog.
If you have a craft blog or are just interested in them, you really should check it out.
Though Diane aimed her comments toward crafters who are just beginning to blog or who are thinking seriously about doing so, she has a lot to say to us veterans as well.
I consider myself a blogging vet because I've posted over 1000 posts to the Artful Crafter Blog since July 8, 2006 which means I posted almost every single day for the past three years. Am I crazy or just crazy in love?!
The answer is in Diane Gilleland's podcast. She advises us to blog about something we love, something we are passionate about.
How can you know what that is? She says you know you're passionate about a pursuit if time seems to disappear when you engage in it.
Time disappears for me when I'm writing for my blog, as well as when I'm crafting for it and this website. What a happy marriage! I'm passionate about sharing craft knowledge, craft tutorials, craft photos and solutions with other crafters.
One of my newest crafty blogging friends, Kathy Cano-Murillo, says, "Celebrate life through art and inspire others to do the same." That about says it for me too. :-D
Maybe I'll change my name from The Artful Crafter to The Passionate Crafter. Or maybe not; that might get me a lot of the wrong kind of traffic. LOL
What's your craft passion? What makes time seem to disappear for you? Chances are you have one too, since you've read this far ;-)
