How to Teach Lefties to Crochet – or Do Anything Else!
I am helping a church knitting group. I'm an avid knitter, so that's not a problem.
However, I have a student who would like to crochet (she is also left-handed). I've been able to get some information on hand placement, etc., but would love some additional hints or tips.

Lefties tend to be quite clever people. They are forced to be in order to get along in a right-handed world!
I have two suggestions. Both involve creating mirror images of a right-hander crocheting.
1. If you are physically demonstrating the crochet techniques yourself, have the student face you and tell her to look at you as her mirror image. This is a great technique for teaching a leftie to do anything; but it challenges those right-handed people who think they are so smart. LOL!
2. Any diagrams of hand placement can be flipped horizontally if they are in digital format or if they are hard copies, hold the diagram face down against a lighted surface (a window or a light table). Again you’ve created a mirror image. (If the diagram is printed on both sides, you will need to make one-sided copies first.)
You can find some tutorials for lefties with the images already flipped at Craft Bits.
