Decal Bath Accessories
Make Fancy Bath Accessories Using Decals

Accessorize your bath with Lazertran Waterslide Decals
In a previous article, I gave instructions for using Lazertran Waterslid.
Decals to put any design on a bar of soap.
Then I thought how nice it would look to have some matching accessories.
You can put the same design on a drinking cup, soap or lotion dispenser ... even the soap dish that holds the pretty decorated soap.
All you need, besides the item you want to decal, are:
- Graphic software to lay out and print your designs - the design above is from Print Artist, but I laid it out in PrintShop because I prefer the PrintShop interface and design options (You could also digitize a design you want by photographing or scanning it.);
- Lazertran Waterslide Inkjet Decals;
- Krylon Crystal Clear Spray; and
- Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel Glaze - Clear glossy finish.
Directions
Import the design(s) onto a blank page of your graphic program. Size it to fit the item. Be sure to take any curvature into account. The decals need to lay flat.
Print the page onto the chalky white side of a Lazertran Decal sheet. Use a printer setting which does not lay down much ink. I used draft setting. Too much ink will cause the colors to run together and ruin the design.
Allow the decal sheet to dry for a half hour. Spray the printed side with Krylon Crystal Clear Spray to seal the ink.
Cut out the design(s).
Submerge each piece in a shallow bowl or sink basin of water. The decal will immediately curl up. Wait for it to relax. Then test to see if the decal slides off easily.
Remove from water. Slide the decal off and lay it in place, smoothing out any wrinkles.
The final step is optional. I preferred a glossy finish to match the soaps I had decorated, so I coated the design with Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel Glaze Gloss.
