Declutter Your Craft Work Space
Get Organized - Part Two

FlyBaby Fluttering and Decluttering
De-clutter your craft space the FlyLady way.
Even if you've followed my tips for Organizing your Craft Space, you may find clutter accumulating and stifling your muse. It happened to me.
Then reader Joann tipped me off to FlyLady.net. What a difference FlyLady has made in my life.
I am reveling in spreading my wings and "blessing" my "hotspots".
I think we need a FlyLady lexicon here:
FLY = Finally Loving Yourself - when you start to get your clutter under control, you can finally FLY;
CHAOS = Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome - get your clutter under control and you won't live with CHAOS anymore;
(FlyLady) Blessings - doing what used to be called chores and caused lots of resentment and procrastination can be viewed in a beautiful new light;
(FlyLady) Hotspots - those areas of your home that are magnets for clutter...
... which brings me to the subject of my craft room.
Inspired by all the (free) emails I have been receiving from FlyLady, I'm finally tackling my hottest hot spot - my craft room/office.
One of my favorite crafts is beading - talk about an organizational challenge! This was my method of organizing my beading supplies pre-FlyLady. ROFL! (Rolling on the floor laughing)
Don't you just love the cratered cardboard "trays".
 :
I finally found the right size rolling cart that would fit under my desk like my much-used rolling Pepsi trays. I transferred everything, as is, to the new cart and tucked it neatly under my desk to be pulled out when the beading urge strikes.
I know - I still have to get rid of those crummy cardboard Pepsi trays - but, with FlyLady, we're only allowed to do household chores 15 minutes at a time!
Don't cha just love it?
Here's my new rolling cart neatly tucked away.

My Declutter Plan
Next I made the graphic to-do list on the top of the page using Photoshop ‘cause a picture is worth a thousand words.
I tacked the photo right on the bulletin board above my desk.
As I complete each task, I will cross it off. That always feel so good.
Actually my craft room doesn't look too bad in the photo partly because I pile my clutter very neatly ?. But it's still clutter and it nags at me and keep me from moving forward.
The journaling says (from left to right).
"Finish this Cancun memory box or toss it. It's just not inspiring me.".
"Sew these last 9 fabric bread baskets which I started for Xmas '06!".
Clean out this in-box. It has become like the proverbial junk drawer".
"Get rid of this pile of magazines with great ideas. Cut out what I really like and file away; and
"Clear this desktop so I actually have space to craft."
Once this is all done, I want to reevaluate all the storage containers with little drawers where I keep all the bits and pieces like paper clips, labels and yet more beads. Do you think beads mate and multiply while we sleep? Or perhaps I have amnesia about buying them all.
Thank you, FlyLady, for giving me wings!

Thanks for the heads up on this site!! Now making my own baby steps...its going to be a long road!! lol
Thanks for letting me know.
29 days ago I started receiving daily Baby Steps e-reminders from FlyLady.
It seemed odd to me because I had already been working the program for a couple of months and receiving all the daily testimonials and muses.
In one of those "ah-ha!" moments I realized that the first two months were my "nesting period" with FlyLady.
So stick with it if you signed up and feel a bit overwhelmed by the program.
After a couple of months, when FlyLady thinks you are ready to test your wings, she will nudge you out of the nest and start sending you the FlyBaby daily notes (which are brief).
You will be ready to fly!
