Wednesday, September 5, 2007: Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder – Not
I don’t think it’s absence that makes the heart grow fonder, it’s the parting. I had such a wonderful time reconnecting with family
on our recent vacation that it was really hard to leave them all.
And even though it has been only a week since I last saw them, I miss them now more than ever! Plus, I didn’t get a lot of photos because I was so busy enjoying the moments.
Seeing how my nieces are growing into lovely and intelligent young women. Talking with Mom – another lovely intelligent woman, but of another generation. Our traditional Polish feast using family recipes. (Too many) wonderful restaurant meals. Hey, but what are vacations for?
Our two eldest nieces, Alex and Kristin, share my love for digital graphic arts so we really connected. The things they teach in school today – amazing! Alex explained the difference between raster and vector files to me – something I had been struggling to understand.
My youngest niece, Gabi, marches to the beat of a different drummer. She loves animals and is extremely independent. I imagine her being a veterinarian or CEO of a company. She has leadership qualities but a very gentle heart. Wouldn’t that combo make an interesting CEO?
