Tuesday, October 7: Remember to Smell the Flowers
The photos in this layout are my niece Theresa and her daughter Maire. Theresa just sent me tons of great photos to scrap. Woohoo!
Now that I look at it again, I think that Maire's name should stand out more. Perhaps a different font or just a bit larger.
One of the nice things about digi-scrapping is that you can always go back and totally redo or simply tweak a layout.
One of my favorite Scrap Girls newsletter features is where a designer takes an early layout and does it over with the techniques and design sense she has developed in the interim. To see that these amazingly talented graphic designers were once amateurs like me encourages me to keep forging ahead.
I'm to the point where I look back at some of my early layouts and think, "Hmm, that one could really use a makeover." Maybe I'll do one of those makeover articles myself!
Today's layout was done in Adobe Photoshop and uses Scrap Girls products by Amanda Sok, Syndee Nuckles, Erica Hite and Trish Yochum.
When I posted the layout in my Scrap Girls gallery, I got this lovely comment from Marnie Adams, another Scrap Girls designer (whose products I didn't even use here). Wasn't that nice?
"What a lovely sentiment! Sweet photos of your dear ones and the flowers. I like the way you added the tags to accent the large photo and added the stamped edge frames to the pictures. A lovely way to memoralize a fun day! Marnie"
