Refresh digital scrapbooking layout

Monday, July 21: Scrap Girls did it again - a Fresh Look for the Refresh Collection

Never content to rest on their laurels, those delightful talented graphic designers at Scrap Girls have updated their free Refresh Collection.

I loved the first Refresh Collection; and didn't think it needed updating - until I saw the new fresher Refresh.

The new kit is just jam-packed with gorgeous papers, cute little embellishments, word art, and alphas. I can't wait to unzip the files and start scrapping. I said "delightful talented graphic designers" but neglected to add "generous".

Thank you Scrap Girls!

If you've never tried digital scrapbooking or card making, here's your chance to try it and learn about it free!

In addition to the free updated Refresh Collection, ScrapGirls offers a free e-book "15 Things You Need to Know to become a Great Digital Scrapbooker".

Sign up for the free newsletter (Monday through Saturday) and you get a freebie with every issue. Did I mention how generous the Scrap Girls team is?

While researching this article on the Scrap Girls Home Page, I learned they now have three online videos for beginners. What better way to dip your digital toes in the water than to actually watch someone do it?!

P.S. The only other thing you need is a graphic software program like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. P.P.S. Some Scrap Girls news of a personal nature: while reading Saturday's newsletter, I was surprised and delighted to find my Great Adventure 1975 layout featured as a weekly winner. Guess what I win. More free Scrap Girls goodies!!

Saturday, August 2: Everyone's a Winner at Scrap Girls

Second Chance digital scrapbooking layout

There's been more fun than usual at Scrap Girls. They've been having an event called "Staycation". Whether you've had a va-cation this summer where you actually traveled away from home or you've saved the price of gas and played around your own home with a stay-cation, Scrap Girls is there for you.

They've had all kinds of games and special chats and challenges. I did the layout above for Wednesday's circle challenge: do a layout featuring circles.

Then Thursday, I joined a chat where the challenge presented was a vacation or staycation layout including five random thoughts that wouldn't be evident from the photo. I haven't gotten to that one yet.

While we were chatting about the challenge, there were a couple of guessing games thrown in.

Since only two of us on the chat had not won a prize yet during the Staycation Event, we were the only ones eligible to win.

So guess what? I won! LOL. I selected a swirly brush set from the Scrap Girls Boutique by Keri Schueller.

This layout was done in Adobe Photoshop. I used Bradley Hand ITC and Bitstream Vera Serif fonts and Scrap Girls products from the following talented graphic designers: Sheri Johnson, Jan Hicks, Melissa Renfro, Amanda Sok, Angie Briggs and Brandy Hackman.

The yellow crumpled notebook paper is a "freebie" designed by a Scrap Girls customer and the spiral notebook is from the "free" (and brand new!) Refresh 2 Collection Biggie.
