Doodling Around
A Fun Way to Pass the Time

Do you remember the (childhood) joy of doodling?
I got kicked off my computer the other day, so my hubby could install a new program for me. What should have taken a couple minutes turned into a couple of hours.
I thought I'd take advantage of the enforced work break to do some doodling. I still need to make or find small art to fill the remaining slots in the multi-photo collage frame I bought to display the doodles I won over at June Crawford's Creative Dream blog.
This is the first chance I've had to doodle since my failed attempt two months ago. So I was a bit reticent to begin.
I fiddled around cutting drawing paper into 4 ½-inch squares. Then I took my time finding something with just the right size circle which I could use to trace. I worked at perfecting my circle-tracing technique and made a tidy pile of scrap paper in the process.
Finally, I couldn't think of any other doodling-related diversions I could use to procrastinate, so I put pen to paper. After all that drama, I actually produced two that I like. What a relief!
They're a bit derivative of June's doodles. I guess it will take some time to develop my own doodling style.
Doodling Questions:
To color or not to color?
I like them as is, but would they be better in soft watercolors?
Are there rules for doodling?
Shape, size, pen or pencil?
How does one know when a doodle is done?
