Frame Earring Holder
Display Your Earrings

Make a Pretty Earring Organizer Using a Picture Frame
Display your prettiest hook-style earrings and have them handy at the same time.
The hook earrings are hung through a mesh screening material.
Hang the frame near a mirror in your bedroom or hallway for that last stop before leaving home.
These can be made as big or as small as you want and the frame can be embellished if you wish some extra bling.
They make great gifts. I love mine.
Frame Earring Holder Materials
- 1 14 ¼" x 7 ¼" picture frame or size of your choice
- Nylon or fiberglass mesh screen material - piece large enough to fit size of frame + ¼" on all sides (Example is from a screen repair kit by Prime-Line. You can also use metal screen material.)
- 33" x 1 ½" wide satin ribbon
- Stapler or staple gun
- Double sided tape
Assembling the Earring Holder
Take the frame apart.
You will be using just the frame itself so save the glass, matting and cardboard backing for another craft project.
Waste not, want not.
Cut the screening material to the size of the frame plus ¼" on all sides.

Hand press the screen along the bottom side of the frame and put your first staple in the center. From there place the staples about 1 ½" apart.
Stop just short of the corners.
Do the same for the opposite side pulling the screen fairly tight but not so tight as to tear it.
Then turn the third side under and start to staple in the center of this side.
Turn under each corner and place a staple across each corner.
Proceed to the last side pulling the screen smooth and again put the first staple in the center and then move out to each corner. Turn under the last two corners as before.
Cut the ribbon at an angle into a 23" length and a 9" length. Set the shorter piece aside for later.
At one end of the longer piece of ribbon, using the double sided tape place a piece just at the end of the ribbon and fold over to make a hem.

Place another piece of tape on top of the fold.

Turn the point in and fold over one more time. Now the raw edge is not exposed and there is a nice thick area for stapling later.

Repeat with the other end of the ribbon.
Place one end of the finished ribbon on the back upper right corner about 1" from the corner and staple in place.
Make sure the ribbon is slightly angled so it will later hang nicely. Do the same with the other end of the ribbon.

Turn over and hold up to make sure the ribbon is positioned correctly for hanging.
If not, pull the staples out and redo.
Determine the center of the ribbon and tie the smaller piece of ribbon once around the middle. Pull the loop tight as shown.
