Different Ways to Decorate Eggs

Designer Easter Eggs
If you’re looking for something a bit different for your Easter eggs this year, here are some interesting twists on the traditional dyed egg.
All of the examples shown use wooden eggs (except for the dyed sticker egg) and can be used for display purposes or for egg hunting.
Additional supplies for each egg design are listed in the individual project.
Decoupage Easter Egg

Decoupage Easter Egg Materials
- Delta Ceramcoat acrylic white paint
- Paint brush
- Origami or colored tissue paper in different colors
- Patterned cutout punch in your choice of design – optional
- Small dish of water
- Old dish towel
- Plaid brand Mod Podge decoupage medium
Paint the egg with two coats of white acrylic paint. Let dry completely before moving to the next step.
Using very thin Origami paper or colored tissue paper, tear into small pieces in the colors of your choice.
This example also uses a cutout punch of doves for a nice pattern repeat.
Soak the paper pieces in a small dish of warm water to soften them a little.
Paint a layer of decoupage medium in a small area.
Picking out the paper pieces you will use, put them on a hand towel to absorb excess moisture.
Lay the pieces on the egg and cover with more decoupage medium.
Continue in this manner until the entire egg is covered.
Then go back and add the doves where you want them. Put another coat of decoupage over the entire egg.
