Cut the milk jug in half just below the handle. Pull or scrape the label off the jug.
Lay the tissue paper out on an ironing board and press the folds out of the paper on medium heat.
Cut 8 1- to 1 ˝-inch lengthwise strips of 8-ply tissue paper in a wavy pattern (56 strips in all). Set aside.
Poke 2 holes 1inch apart on the bottom of the jug with the awl.
Paint the jug with white paint. Let dry and apply a second coat.
Paint eyes and a mouth with the black paint. Do a different face on the other side.
Thread one end of the string through each hole and knot the string on the inside. Cut the ends off close to the knot.
Set the jug on your work table open side up.
Place short strips of the double sided tape all along the inside cut edge of the jug. Add several strips inside across the base of the jug for added fullness.
Attach one tissue strip at a time to the inside edge of the jug until there are strips all the way around and all the taped areas are covered.
Attach tissue to the tape in the top of the jug.
There are 52 strips on the example. If you want an even fuller look, add more tape to the inside and more tissue strips.
Here are a couple of CD Ghosts and Milk Jug Ghost "hanging out together".
