Halloween Spiders
Simple, Easy to Make, Kids Craft

Here's an easy Halloween craft idea to do for the kids or with the kids. Take proper precautions with the glue gun, needle and scissors depending on your children's level of skill and maturity.
These scary spiders can sit anywhere or be hung from the rafters and door frames, like the hanging props found here.

Halloween Spider Supplies

- 1 cardboard egg carton
- 4 black pipe cleaners
- Heavy black sewing thread and needle
- Black craft paint
- 2 plastic moveable eyes or paint your own with white and black craft paint
- Large sewing or darning needle
- Glue gun
- Wire cutters or heavy duty scissors
Assembling the Halloween Spider

1. Cut one egg section from the carton. Trim upper edge to make it level all around so the spider will sit level.
2. Using a large sewing needle or awl, poke four holes equal to each other on both sides of the section near the opening. This will be for the legs later.
3. Paint the inside and outside of the section with black paint. Let it dry an hour or two since it will make the section stronger.
4. Using the black thread, make a large knot at one end and sew this from the inside to the outside on the top of the egg section. Making a large loop on top, then sew back down inside the top. Cut thread off near the inside top and secure with a glue gun.
5. Thread the pipe cleaners through one side of the holes and over through the other side of holes. Secure in place with the glue gun on the inside just near each hole.
6. Cut the legs to desired length or what looks best to you and bend them in desired positions.
7. Glue the eyes in place or paint your own with a dot of white and then black.
8. Your spider is ready to scare. Sit them around where least expected or hang them around.
