Common Weaves Used in Homecoming Mums

I would love to get instructions how to weave the love chain and rounded military braids. Mine comes out flat.

“Love chains” is the generic term for the long woven streamers hanging from homecoming mum “corsages”. If you have a particular braid design in mind, perhaps you can send a picture and I will try to track it down.

Re the rounded “military braid”, are you sure you don’t mean diamondback weave? The weave looks quite similar but the military braid is done by pulling loops of ribbon through other loops.

There is no center space which would allow it to be made rounded.

The diamondback weave, on the other hand, can be formed around a pole. It retains its rounded shape even after the core is removed.
