This isn’t surprising since the craze for outsize, outlandish, amazing homecoming mums began in Oklahoma and Texas.
To learn some different weaves to embellish homecoming mums, I recommend B. Grant’s classic book, Leather Braiding. It may appear a bit retro to you but, as I said, it’s a classic.
