Stretch it proportionally (by dragging one of the corners) so that the sandal is 4 ½ inches long.
Cut out the sandal and thong patterns. Use glue stick to adhere the sandal to a cork sheet and cut out.

Peel the paper away from the foam.
Glue the thong pattern to a contrasting color of foam, cut and peel away the paper. Put a dab of tacky glue on the tip of the thong’s toe piece. Use the pointy scissor to push the toe piece into the front hole of the sandal. Let it stick upright and set aside for a few minutes.
When the glue has set a bit, repeat the glue and insert process with each of the thong’s straps.
Spread tacky glue over the cork base and attach the completed flip flop.
If you want to get fancy, the sandal can be created in stripes or polka dots. It’s fun and similar to working a puzzle.
The polka dots are created with a paper punch. Before you start punching, be sure to check how far your paper punch will extend over the sandal so that you can factor that into your design.
