Wreaths and Other Clever Things to Make with Pinecones

Do you have any instructions on how to make a pinecone wreath?

I believe they use a wire form. I made one many years ago but have forgotten the particulars.

Or, if you have any other pinecone decorations, I would be grateful. I have TONS of them and just know there is some cute thing I can make to sell.

Sorry this took a while. I have put up two articles for you. There is one on Making Wreaths and one on how to make Pinecone Ornaments.

You'll find directions for making pinecone flowers in the wreath article. There are a gazillion craft projects you can do with those. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Cone flowers can be used to cover a tabletop tree.

They can be mounted on top of decorative boxes.

Once you've made a few cones flowers, you'll see that you can mimic many varieties of flower blossoms, e.g. roses, tulips, poppies, carnations, marigolds - just to name a few.

one flowers look lovely in dried flower arrangements, for centerpieces or to decorate a shelf, coffee or sofa table.

Painted white and antiqued, they resemble magnolia blossoms. For magnolia blossoms, make two overlapping layers of pinecone scales. Two artificial magnolia leaves (or real ones conditioned using the glycerin method described in the wreath article) and an artificial magnolia pod (or real one dipped in varnish to preserve) complete the flower.

Mount it on a piece of tree branch or driftwood as in the picture above and you have a simple but elegant arrangement. The magnolia I used is just an artificial one. In hindsight, I think a cone flower magnolia would be more striking.
