How to Publish Your Craft Ideas

It's Easier Than Ever to Get Published

Hello,

I am an avid crafter and have been starting to write down my designs and ideas and am interested in submitting or publishing them. Can you give guidance on where to go to do this?

Thanks

Gill

I'm not sure that I know exactly what you mean.

Do you want to try to get your book published and marketed in bookstores? I have no experience in this, but have heard it is difficult to do. You most likely will have to find a literary agent who specializes in craft books and have him represent you. You can find the names and addresses of such agents in the public library.

Do you want to self-publish a book? This is easy to do. There are what are known as "vanity presses" listed in just about all the yellow pages. They will print up your book. Its up to you to sell it, but with eBay and the Internet, this is easier than it was before.

Do you want to produce an e-book and sell it over the internet? This is easier still. While you still have to market, it is simple and inexpensive to write and distribute the book. Check out Make My Knowledge Sell, a free e-book that is devoted to this subject.

Or do you just wish to see your designs distributed on websites such as mine? This is also easy, just e-mail them to the sites you like. You will find that most are not in a position to pay for them however.

You can send your articles to many sites at once if you join use one of the many article distribution services availble to authors - many for free. There are other services on the web that will submit articles for you.

I hope this helps. If you give me more specific information, I might be able to give you some more resources to consider.

Good Luck!
