Publishing Craft Ideas

Get Your Craft Ideas Published

Hello,

Good day to you, I am a crafter and enjoy making crafts. I make things out of plastic canvas.

My question for you that I have is, I want to fulfill my dream and I would like to make my own plastic canvas patterns.

I know how to do that. What I would like to know from you is how do I get it published through a publishing company and where do I go for that?

Can you please help me with this. My name is Laura, I hope to get your reply real soon.

Laura

P.S. Have a nice day.

Please read the article I wrote at How Do I Publish My Craft Ideas. This will give you a list of the most obvious publishing options.

Since you want to go through a publishing house, I think the first thing you will need is a literary agent. From what I have read, most publishers return unsolicited manuscripts unread because of legal concerns. The job of the agent is to present your work to the publisher.

Go to your local public library. There is a reference work, whose name I can't recall, that lists all the literary agents in the US (and maybe Canada) and the types of clients they represent, e.g. mystery writers, do-it-yourselfers or crafters. You would then have to contact those who are in the right field and try to convince them to represent you.

In trying to find the name of the literary agent directory, I came across the following article Warning and Cautions for Writers. Please read it carefully before contacting any literary agents.

This article also give you some good starting points in your search for an agent.

You could also check out the names and addresses of publishers of craft books you find in stores or libraries and call or write them to see what their submission criteria are.

I believe it is hard to get published this way, which is why more people are going the self publishing route and selling there works online. If you're interested in that option, check out the ebook listed in the article I referred to above, Make Your Knowledge Sell, which not only helps you to write your book, but also to market it.

I wish you luck. If you get published, please let me know.
