How to Get a Prototype for Self-Designed Shoes Made

I would like to learn shoemaking and would also like to locate a manufacturer here in the U.S that will work with me to produce a prototype, from my pattern.

Thank you.

Here is an article on how to learn shoe making.

As for locating a manufacturer to produce your prototype, you don’t need to do that any more.

There is a ten-year old CAD (Computer-Aided Design) company located in Taiwan named Road Ahead Technologies Consultant Corp. One of their CAD services is aptly named Shoe in One Day.

Simply e-mail them your 2D sketches and their engineers will turn your idea into a 3D prototype model within 24 hours.

The 3D model and several realistic full color photos will be e-mailed to you in QuickTime Format - available as a free download.

QuickTime is a multimedia framework developed by Apple, capable of handling various formats of digital video, media clips, and several types of interactive panoramic images.

This enables you to view, zoom in or out, and rotate the shoe on a computer screen to present your design to potential buyers.

The photos can be printed and handed out just like a “real” photograph.
