All you need are two lengths of 5/8-inch wide ribbon in your school colors, a stapler and about ten minutes.
Cut a strip of each school color two times longer than you want the finished chain plus 5 inches. For example, if you want a 36-inch chain, cut the ribbons 2 yards 5 inches long.
Following the pictures, we’ll call red “color 1” and blue “color 2”. Write down your school colors for reference. For example if they’re blue and white, write color 1 = white and color 2 =blue. So when I say color 1, you’ll see red but think white. Get it?
How to Weave a Spirit Chain
Step 1
Fold the color 2 strip in half to find the middle. At the middle, make a point and staple it as shown in the photo.

Step 2
Staple one end of color 1 to the back of the point as shown.

Step 3
Turn the chain to the front and begin weaving color 1 in front, behind, in front and behind the two color 2 strips.

Step 4
Just keep doing what you’re doing until you reach the desired length. Didn’t I tell you this was easy?

Team Spirit! Yay!!
