Review of Mrs. Grossman’s Sticker Magic

Andrea Grossman and Leslie Carola Collaborate on a Delightful Book. Mrs. Grossman’s Sticker Magic is a delightful collaboration by Andrea Grossman, founder of Mrs. Grossman’s Paper Company - the largest designer and manufacturer of decorative stickers in the country - and papercrafter/author Leslie Carola. The authors say, "Whether you are five ... or a hundred ..., you can enjoy creating sticker art."

Going with that thought brought back remembrances of childhood sticker art, as well as observations of how the neighborhood children today still looooove stickers - buying, collecting, trading and - well - sticking them. Stickers are fun for all.

The book takes you from the simplest designs and use of stickers to sticker art as a true art form.

Did you know there are competitive sticker artists?

You’ll learn how to create 3D effects with images that literally pop off the page or pop up when you open them (templates included!).

We can always count on Leslie Carola to include lots of design and layout tips and principles.

If you’re a formally trained artist, you will appreciate that the book is so founded. If you have no formal art training, you will devour these sections and come back, time and time again, for reference.

There’s a bonus surprise (shhh) in a pocket folder which will give you a head start with your first Mrs. Grossman’s sticker art project or add to your sticker stash if you already love sticker art.

The book also includes reference lists for the specific stickers used in the projects should you want to duplicate them exactly.

You can’t help but be inspired by all the great projects and photos in this book. In the authors’ words, "See beyond the specific projects; use the ideas and techniques" and let your imagination soar!
