Yo-Yo Decorated Tote Bag
Materials
- 1 Clover Quick Yo-Yo Maker - Large Flower-Shaped
- Needle and button (heavy duty) thread to match your fabric
- Small scraps of cotton or cotton blend fabric (one yo-yo will take a 5 ½-inch square of fabric)
- A small scrap of green felt and sewing thread to match
- Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue
- 3 small colorful buttons or ¼-inch pom poms - optional
Assembling the Tote Bag
Using fabric color or print of your choice, make three yo-yos following the directions on the package.
I used button thread to do these for added strength. When these are done, there will be a puffy little center to them - which is cute all by itself. You can also glue or sew a button or pom pom in the middle as I did.
Glue the yo-yos where desired on the tote bag.
Cut two small leaf shapes from green felt.
Use the needle and green thread to embroider little stitches down the center of each leaf for veins.
Pinch one end together and tack- stitch to give it a 3-dimensional look. Glue leaves in place beside the flowers.
