Some Uses for Upholstery Samples

Upholstery Sample Quilt

Patterns Using Upholstery Samples

I have been given a bunch of upholstery fabric samples.

I have 2 sizes (16"x17" and 17"x24"). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for patterns to make eyeglass cases, armchair holders, lap robes, walker caddies, and wheel chairs bags for our local nursing home.

I plan on doing a quilt like top with a fleece backing for the lap robes.

I also plan to use quilt batting for the lap robes and fusible fleece for the inside of the glass cases.

Do you have any patterns for these items? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Margene

I do have an eyeglass case pattern on The Artful Crafter which is made from upholstery sample book pages, as well as a few other patterns using upholstery samples.

The eyeglass case is designed to hold two pair of glasses, but if yours are intended for one pair, simply leave out the soft separator piece that I added to protect one pair of glasses from scratching the other.

You can find my directions for making a quilted lap robe here.

As for your other pattern requests (armchair holders, walker caddies, and wheel chairs bags), I put out a call to my Artsy Bloggers Group which includes quilters and fabric artists.

I'll let you know if any of them has what you're looking for.
