Crafts are one of the few ways that kids can show their love with something they made with their own hands.
Valentines Craft 1: Cards
One of simplest and most engaging crafts for kids is card making. Best of all, handmade Valentine Day cards can be quite easy to make and can be created out of the most basic materials. The quickest and most basic way to create a card is to simply let your child fold a piece of paper in half, draw some artwork on the cover, and write a brief message on the inside flap.
From there, card making can get pretty elaborate. There are plenty of details that you can add using paper craft techniques, such as stamping, foiling, beads, layers, cutting, and hole punching, just to name a few.
But for children, creating the classic Valentines heart shape is easily accomplished by drawing or tracing a half heart (sort of like a question mark) on a folded piece of paper and then cutting along the line.
Because card making is extraordinarily versatile in terms of its difficulty threshold, it’s the perfect craft for kids, and especially ideal for Valentine’s Day when so many kids need a large number of cards to hand out to their classmates.
Materials can be very inexpensive and the time they take are rewarded many times over in the appreciation of the recipient.
Valentines Crafts 2: Paper Tissue Flowers
These paper tissue flowers are a big hit with kids and make lovely Valentine’s Day decorations.Use square pieces of pink, red, and purple tissue paper, laying several pieces one on top of the other in diagonals.
When the pieces have been added to the stack, adjust them so that the corners form a spiral. Then grab the center and twist until the tissues form a flower shape.
These can be attached to straws wrapped with green paper or ribbons.
For extra flair, cut out paper leaves and attach them along the stem. Place them in a simple glass vase, and they’ll add a splash of color to brighten up any room.

Valentines Crafts 3: Pipe Cleaner Heart Chain
The best thing about pipe cleaners is that they can be bent into practically any shape; they certainly can be bent into hearts. To create a pipe cleaner heart chain, all you need are pipe cleaners, preferably in red, pink, or white.
Simple bend the first pipe cleaner into the shape of a heart. Then, bend the next one into the shape of heart also, but be sure to loop it onto the first one.
Proceed until the chain has reached the desired length. Be sure to give the ends a good twist!
To add sparkle, try using glitter. You can use glitter pens, or glue and loose glitter.
You can put glitter all over the pipe cleaner hearts, or just dabs here and there.
Get creative and cut the pipe cleaners so that they are in various sizes, and create tiny heart chains, or chains with links in all different sizes.
Hang them across a window, on a wall, or dangling in a corner from the ceiling.
