Valentines Day Scrapbooking Layout

Creating Romantic Pages

Paper Hearts

Valentines Day scrapbooking layouts are incredibly easy to create for the pages of your scrapbook.

With the right colors, shapes, and textures, creating a beautiful layout can be fun and easy. Using the tips below, you can create a lovely layout to preserve your most treasured Valentine’s Day memories for years to come.

Valentines Layout Colors

Like many holidays, Valentine’s Day comes with its very own signature color scheme: pink and red.

However, there are other colors that can be used to add contrast and emphasis in a Valentine layout. Try working in various shades of purple, such as violet and lavender, as well as white hues ranging from bright white to soft, off-white hues.

Black and shades of gray are ideal for text, and also for outlining areas that you want to draw attention to.

Use silver and gold to add an elegant touch.

Layout Shapes

Of course, hearts, hearts, and more hearts. If there’s anything we associate with Valentine’s Day, it’s definitely the shape of a heart.

Put a new twist on this traditional shape by incorporating it in unique ways. Use it to dot your i's, as a template for photo cropping, as a backing, or border.

Use a small heart stamp or hole punch to create little bunches of hearts in corners, or use them to create heart-shaped flowers, and use a green ink pen (acid-free of course) to draw stems and leaves.

Textures

Textures for Valentine’s layouts should be soft, and have a romantic feeling.

Lace and transparent papers can have just the right effect. In fact, some transparent papers appear to glow, and when layered, create various undertones of color.

Satin ribbons and bows also dress up a Valentine’s layout quite nicely, as do printed or patterned ribbons in traditional Valentine colors.

Photos and More

Putting photos in your Valentine layout is obvious, but what about heart-shaped photos?

There are plenty Valentine themed embellishments in the scrapbook section of your favorite craft store.

Also, remember to include more than just photos – last year’s card from your sweetie makes a great feature on a scrapbook page, as well as ticket stubs, dinner receipts, love notes, and any other items that bring back your Valentine memories.
