I have a wedding invitation with butterflies on it that I would LOVE to use as wallpaper border in my bathroom.
I am going to take the invitation to a copy center and have copies made from a laser printer; then cut out each butterfly so I can place them around the top of the walls.
My question is how do I attach each one to the wall, how do I keep the color from running?
I've never done anything like this before.
Thanks for the help.

The technique you need is decoupage. Since you haven’t done it before, you might want to buy a reference book.
Undoubtedly, you will have questions as you proceed. I recommend Durwin Rice’s book, New Decoupage.
The book is beautifully illustrated with photos of his work and Durwin thoroughly covers how to decoupage onto walls. He even gives you his recipe for the perfect wall decoupage adhesive.

Durwin swears by laser copies for decouping because the toner color does not bleed. So what you plan to do is a very safe way to go.
However my friend and decoupage artist, Kay Davies, uses copies that she produces at home using her computer’s inkjet printer. If you’re going to do a lot of decoupage, this is a time and money saver. Read Kay’s tips for avoiding ink bleed here.
Good luck with your first decoupage project. It sounds like it will be lovely.
