Natural Wedding Invitation

Natural Wedding Invitation

This natural wedding invitation is really easy to make using layers of different papers and finished off with a matching belly band and cream ribbon.

It’s perfect for a fall wedding, eco-wedding or for brides just looking for a natural look to their wedding.

Natural Invitation Materials

  • Smooth A5 cream card at 250gsm
  • Handmade paper with flowers cut to 195mm (h) x 135mm (w)
  • Handmade paper with flowers cut to 35mm (h) x 380mm (w) for the band
  • Yellow A5 sheet of vellum, once details are printed, should be cut to 170mm (h) x 120mm (w)
  • Cream satin ribbon 10mm wide, cut to 17cm, 21cm and 3cm pieces
  • Roller glue

How to Make the Invitation

  • Choose your wording and font for the front of your invite and set it up in Word. Use the A5 paper size, centre the text and print it out on to your vellum.
  • Cut the vellum to size.
  • Cut the handmade paper to the sizes above.
  • Glue the 195mm x 135mm handmade paper to the smooth cream card using the roller glue.
  • Secure the vellum on top of the handmade paper by strategically placing the roller glue where the text is, that way, you won’t be able to see it through the vellum.
  • Fold the long, thin piece of handmade paper around the belly of the card. Secure the overlapping section with some roller glue.
  • Take the 17cm piece of ribbon and wrap it around the belly band. Secure the overlapping section of ribbon with some roller glue.
  • Next take the 21cm piece of ribbon. Hold it in the middle and loop the ends back to the centre to create a circle. Allow them to overlap and secure the ends together using the roller glue.
  • Take the 3cm piece of ribbon and fold it around the centre of the circular ribbon that you’ve just made. Secure the overlapping section at the back with some roller glue. Trim any excess ribbon. You should now have a bow.
  • Finally secure your bow to the ribbon around the belly band.
